This project involved extending and internally re-arranging a doctors' surgery in Tunbridge Wells. Working on a small site within a residential area, we registered with the Considerate Contractors scheme to ensure we remained a ‘customer friendly’ building company and created a good rapport with those affected by the build. The extension required matching to the original building finish as well as recycling materials where possible and, because it was a working surgery, the brief flexed as new requirements were identified.
The completed Surgery now enables the patients are to enter through a newly-built lobby, which opens up into the bright and spacious new reception area. Internal works were done to re-align and re-model consultation rooms and waiting areas whilst being mindful of medical standards - all done when the surgery remained open and fully operational. There has also been some work undertaken since completion to redesign the old heating system, add air conditioning and soundproof the reception desk.
